e.VOLve contains information about community and voluntary organisations that operate in Hampshire (including Portsmouth and Southampton) and the Isle of Wight.
e.VOLve also contains details of organisations based outside this area as long as they provide a service to the residents of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Community and voluntary organisations are defined as:
Independent bodies with self-governing structures and a wholly or predominantly voluntary governing body that do not distribute profits to shareholders, and are run for the benefit of others in the community
registered charities or companies limited by guarantee, clubs, societies and interest groups that may or may not have a written constitution;
religious bodies and faith groups;
housing associations and registered social landlords; and

The following types of organisation are not eligible to be represented in the database:
local government, NHS and other statutory bodies;
companies that trade and distribute their profit to shareholders;
schools, colleges and universities;
training and enterprise companies;
*Charities associated with or supported by trade unions, professional associations or trade bodies are eligible.
