• Royal National Lifeboat Institution (Winchester Branch)
  The RNLI is a registered charity which exists to save lives at sea. It depends entirely on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income. Lifeboats are launched more than 6,000 times a year saving on average 22 people per day. It costs approximately £110million to run the service (around £309,000 per day).

• Southampton Lifeguard Club
  A voluntary lifeguard club, affiliated to RLSS and a member of the Solent Sea Rescue Organisation. We operate a Beach Rescue Service at Calshot beach during the summer weekends and Bank Holidays. Members are trained for the National Lifeguard Beach award, RLSS Open Water exams and Long Distance Swimming. Winter training and visits take place regularly.
