Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestras and Choirs
Eight groups: The Basingstoke Area Youth String Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Training Wind Orchestra, Basingstoke Area Youth Percussion Ensemble, Tadley Area Youth Wind Band and Main Orchestra meet regularly & exist to provide training for young instrumentalists in orchestral playing. Membership of the main orchestra is by audition each July. There are no auditions for the Wind or String Orchestras. The Basingstoke Area Youth Choir and Junior Choir also offer vocal training & meet regularly during school terms.

BSO is a 50 strong orchestra that performs 3 concerts annually in the Anvil. Recent soloists include Lesley Garrett, James Lisney, Nicola Loud and Natalie Clein. We rehearse weekly in Basingstoke and potential members (Grade 8+) are invited to make contact.

The orchestra is a full symphony orchestra, which rehearses every Wednesday evening with some exceptions, gives regular concerts throughout the year, generally for the benefit of good causes, often providing young soloists experience in public and creating a satisfying leisure activity for the members.

Hampshire Guitar Orchestra (HAGO)
HAGO are a group of about a dozen intermediate amateur classical guitarists who meet to play ensembles in a wide variety of styles. Our repertoire includes music from many centuries and our orchestration makes use of Alto, B-Bass, Contrabass guitars. Our Concerts and recordings raise money for charities local to our community. Hago was formed in 1998 out of an existing well-established guitar ensemble, and its ethos is one of commitment to continuous improvement.

Innovations Jazz Orchestra
Formed during 1999 the orchestra has around 20 members. We play a variety of big band, swing and pop standards. People can have a go at jazz improvisation and all musicians are welcome (grade 5 upwards). Piano, drums, guitar, bass, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, flute & clarinet.

We are a String orchestra with a wide age range. The classical music in our repertoire covers all periods and is, approximately of Grade 6 standard. No audition is required however and less experienced players are also welcome. We give three informal concerts a year, all for charitable organisations.

Petersfield Musical Festival
To promote, improve, develop and maintain the appreciation of music in all its aspects. This is achieved by the presentation of public choral concerts, orchestral concerts and recitals including an annual Festival to be held in and around Petersfield and by such other ways as the Society, through its Committee shall determine from time to time. Local choirs are affiliated/ members. Four Committee Meetings and AGM. Festival mid March each year offering up to 6 concerts.
