Talks given to groups on the subject of the Bevin Boys. Talks are illustrated with Mining Memorabilia.

    Ocean Harmony is a male voice, close harmony group singing in the unaccompanied Barbershop style. We are always looking for singers to boost our membership - those men interested are invited to come along. There is no need to be able to read music, just be able to sing in tune. Ocean harmony sing at a variety of events, with a charity benefiting annually from some of the proceeds of our engagements.   • Old Basing Bowling Club
    Outdoor bowling club with affiliaton to associations at national, county and local levels for both Mens and Ladies sections (Ladies section contact Mrs S Hayden on 01256 780388). Teams play in various local leagues and friendly games are played most weekends. In addition, members are encouraged to enter club and external competitions. Qualified coaching is available. Winter activities include various social events, some indoor bowling friendly matches.

  • Priory Bowls Club (Men)
    Priory Bowls Club is a men only club and we are based at Milton Park, Portsmouth. We have 3 bowls teams and one plays League bowls in Division 1 and the other two both play in Combination 2 League. The club was formed in 1926 and we have approximately 50 bowlers. We now participate in the afternoon triples league. The League Team is now in Division 1 in 2013 having won the Division 2 in 2012. The B Team was relegated to Combination 2 in 2013 and the C Team was promoted to Comination 2 due to league re-organisation so they both play now in the same combination league

  • Solent City Chorus
    Solent City Chorus is a close harmony group of male singers, singing in the unaccompanied 'a cappella' style. There is no need to be able to read music, just be able to sing in tune. We are always looking for singers to boost our numbers. If you are interested, you are invited to come along to our rehearsal evenings. We sing new songs and old songs, even songs that are more recent and have been arranged to the four part harmony style. Come along and try us out, and make some new friends on the way. Solent City Chorus compete in various competitions and also other events throughout the year.

    We are an association that deals with representing and maintaining the property of the Territorial Army and Cadets within the counties of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Kent, Surrey East and West Sussex and Oxfordshire. We also help recruit and administer the Royal Naval Reserve, The Royal Marines Reserve, The Royal Auxiliary Air Force, the Army Cadet Force, the Air Training Corps, the Sea Cadet Corps and the Combined Cadet Force throughout the region.
