Mary Rose Trust
The world held its breath as the Mary Rose was raised from the Solent seabed in 1982. DVD on ship and films shown on projector. Nearby is a museum of reconstructions, audio-visual presentations and one thousand recovered artifacts
- the perfect Tudor time capsule. 24hour booking hotline on 02392 861512. Visits to local community groups - in particular special needs, free of charge. The ship hall is closed until the new museum is completed in 2012, but the museum remains open.

Nursling & Rownhams History Group
We meet each month from September to July. During the summer months we visit sites of local historical interest. The rest of the time we have talks with an historical connection. Recent events have been talks on the history of Southampton Parks and Winchester City Mill and a tour of the Balfour Museum (Red Cross) at Winchester. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available after the meeting. Subscription affiliates members to Lower Test Valley Archaeological Society in addition to membership of history group.

Palmerston Forts Society
The Society was formed in 1984 with the principal aim of the advancement of the education of the public into the history of all the British Victorian fortifications. The PFS also assists in the improvement of the fortifications for the public benefit. The PFS has a diverse membership spread all over the UK, as well as other parts of the world. The membership includes men, women and families of all ages and the activities vary from visits, through research to work parties. Members receive the Society's journal 'The Redan' and newsletters.

Royal Marines Historical Society
The Royal Marines Historical Society was formed on 28th October 1964, the Corps Tercentary year by a group of enthusiasts who had been exchanging information on Corps History. The first newsletter was published in April 1968. The objectives are to carry out research into the History of the Royal Marines, its opertions, traditions, awards and uniforms. To work closely with the Royal Marines Museum to promote a general interest in Corps History and inform the Museum of items of interest. To carry out detailed research into particular historical projects.

The Yateley Society
The Yateley Society is a registered charity to benefit the parish of Yateley. A local Amenity Society registered with the Civic Trust, which carries out research and informs the public about local history, including local family history, and natural history encouraging good standards of Town Planning and undertakes practical nature conservation work. AGMs are held in February. The Society also offers a programme of talks and events relating to its activities. These are generally open to non-members.
