Services and activities offered:
The Society was formed in 1984 with the principal aim of the advancement of the education of the public into the history of all the British Victorian fortifications. The PFS also assists in the improvement of the fortifications for the public benefit. The PFS has a diverse membership spread all over the UK, as well as other parts of the world. The membership includes men, women and families of all ages and the activities vary from visits, through research to work parties. Members receive the Society's journal 'The Redan' and newsletters.

For people aged over 18 years.
Charges:
£20 membership per annum (UK and EC); £22 Europe non EC; and £25 rest of the world.
Half year (new members April - September) £10.
Times:
Every 4th Wednesday in the month (except August & December).
