Aims and objectives:
To find, record, excavate, raise, bring ashore, preserve, publish, report on and display for all time in Portsmouth, the Mary Rose - all for the education and benefit of the nation.
Services and activities offered:
The world held its breath as the Mary Rose was raised from the Solent seabed in 1982. DVD os ship & films shown on projector. Nearby is a museum of reconstructions, audio-visual presentations and one thousand recovered artefacts: The perfect Tudor time capsule. 24 hour booking hotline on 023 9286 1512. Visits to local community groups - in particular special needs, free of charge. The ship hall is closed until new museum completed in 2012, but the museum remains open.
