Aims and objectives:
We are a small local archaeological group.
Our objectives are:
To identify and investigate the archaeological heritage of the village of Liss and its immediate vicinity.
To encourage and involve local residents in learning about and investigating local history by offering hands on experience of various aspects of archaeological investigation.
To add to the existing written and pictorial records of local archaeological sites by producing reports of excavations and other activities of the group, and by lodging copies of such with appropriate bodies.
Services and activities offered:
We have various specialist groups within the organisiation -
Finds processing, landscape analysis, trench planning and recording, field walking, surveying and geophysics, soil analysis, research, metal detecting and archaeological digging.
No previous experience is needed.
Training sessions and experience in various aspects of archaeology are offered throughout the year.

16
Restrictions:
Children can only be accepted when accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a member of the group.
Charges:
Membership is £10 for a year
Times:
No regular meeting day.
Annual dig is usually during September

Premises available to hire:
Dig site - Occasional hire of local community centre for speakers/training/archaeology related activities.
