Aims and objectives:
To expand the number of art groups thus enabling a greater number of people with disabilities to enjoy art.
Volunteer group leaders & helpers always required.
Services and activities offered:
Conquest Art helps people with disabilities of all ages to overcome the adversity of their disability through art activity. Art groups are held, where members' artistic progress is matched by a parallel improvement in their well-being. Exhibitions are held and talks given on request. A magazine is published three times a year which is also available on disc for the visually impaired. Training in our methods for potential group leaders and personnel from outside organisations is available. Conquest Art is a voluntary organisation and donations are welcome to enable it to continue its activities.
Our services are available for any person with a disability from teenagers onwards, and people with mild learning difficulties, but their acceptance into a group is at the discretion of the group leader.
Special needs catered for:
Accessible toilets, wheelchair ramps to the entrance of the building, premises on one level, disabled parking. Groups cater for individual abilities, and specialist support products sourced on a case by case basis, eg head painter etc.
Full members £5 per annum; Friends £20 per annum.
Please phone for further details of groups at a venue that is local to you. Our groups are mainly in Surrey.
