Aims and objectives:
To raise awareness of the problems of asthma diagnosis, treatment, quality of life and the need
for research.
To educate patients, carers and health professionals about asthma.
To encourage people with asthma to expect to lead a normal life with minimum medication.
To lobby the decision-makers to take steps to ensure that the environment, both indoors and outdoors is safe for people with asthma.
Services and activities offered:
Swim group - Fun for all the family - Adult astmatics welcome. Social and medical meetings; Help for activity and outward bound courses.
Minimum age 6 months.
Restrictions:
For asthmatics and their families & carers
Special needs catered for:
On an individual basis.
Charges:
£5 per family a year for branch - Swim group is free.
Times:
Swim group meets every 2nd Sunday in the month at the Medina Pool at 12.30-1.30pm. Coaching (only) every 4th Sunday at 12.30-1.30pm.
Branch meets quarterly.
