  • Gosport Voluntary Action (Befriending Service)
    This is a service for older people, who have become socially isolated or lonely and have little or no contact with others. A visitor will call once a week for half an hour or more, or a volunteer will contact once a week by telephone to chat, offer information if requested for a variety of support groups/services/assistance and more. This is a free service. CHAT groups come here & talk offer monthly tea & cake in a volunteer hosts house. Each group consists of no more than 4 service users plus 2 volunteers. Advocacy service for old people.

    Based in Farnborough, RVS is the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) for the Borough of Rushmoor. We are here to help increase the skills and capacity of local voluntary and community groups. We can provide free information, advice and support to enable local groups to help people in Farnborough, Aldershot and the surrounding area. We have accessible minibuses available for hire to community and voluntary groups. We also operate Dial A Ride services in Rushmoor and Fleet Link in Hart District.

    We provide a club where people who have survived a stroke can meet in a happy and social atmosphere, where they can regain skills that they probably thought they may never use again. We are fortunate in having the voluntary services of a physiotherapist and an artist. We arrange lunches for our members in various venues - taking them by car with the service of voluntary drivers. Special events such as musical afternoons, a Christmas party, Winter and Summer visits and guest speakers.

Room hire facilities are available to charities, community groups, corporate groups, local businesses and public sector organisations. The building has excellent training, boardroom, meeting room and away day facilities. Our friendly and considerate staff are always on hand to help in the smooth running of your meeting/event.
