    The Bruce Trust provides holidays for disabled, disadvantaged or elderly people with their carers, friends or family on purpose built wide beam canal boats on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Training given to inexperienced helms people. Volunteers to assist with the Friday, Saturday + Sundays turn-arounds needed. We also provide day trips with crew for up to 12 people.

    Purpose built centre for people of all abilities, to experience a holiday on their own or with their family and friends. Indoor heated pool, lounge, 10 fully accessible self catering chalets, twin rooms, ensuite rooms & family rooms. Bar. Activities include sailing, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, archery, zip wire, motor cruising, orienteering, king-swing, high rope, golf bugg. We are also registered to offer adult respite care if over 18 years of age.

  • Catholic Disability Fellowship (Portsmouth Diocese)
    Raises funds to provide holidays for disabled children, and respite for the parents. Provides moral and financial support for families with disabled members. Provide support for parents of disabled children in seeking appropriate education. Organise mutual support groups for families of disabled. Raise awareness in the church about disability issues.

  • Disability Aid Trust
    People who are severely physically disabled can find it impossible to take a holiday unless accompanied by a helper. It can prove prohibitively expensive. The Trust can provide towards the cost of a helper where these costs cannot be met elsewhere. It does not provide help for the disabled persons holiday. Minimum age of applicants: 17 years. Last date for applications: 1st Feb (holidays 1st April to 30th September) and 1st August (1st October to 31st March). The Trustees now only consider applications once in every 2 years.

  • Green Island Holiday Trust (Poole)
    We organise six, week long holidays at Holton Lee, a specialist disability, wheelchair friendly, respite and holiday centre, based on the edge of Poole Harbour in a 350acre site. It is four miles west of Poole town. Five holiday makers who need some help and care will be looked after by six volunteer carers. Each holiday starts on a Saturday and finishes on the following Friday. They will involve various activities suited to the group. We may include an Art and Craft session, Bird watching, Pony & trap riding, Bar-BQ's, music and boat trips exploring Poole Harbour in our wheelchair friendly boat.

  • Peter Le Marchant Trust
    This charity provides day trips & short holidays at a nominal charge, to physically & mentally disabled adults & children on our specially built boats - designed to take wheelchairs etc. The boats are equipped with hydraulic lifts, resuscitation equipment, special beds, showers and toilets.   • The Holiday Homes Trust
    The Trust provides low cost, self-catering holidays for families with special needs (elderly, low income, one parent) in their caravans on popular holiday parks. The Trust has 10 caravans on 9 sites. All units are wheelchair accessible. No scouting connection required. We are at present referring some holiday makers to The Family Holiday Association, who are part of social tourism, and they will pay £100 towards the holiday if they earn under £28,000 income and not had a holiday as a family for the last 4years.

  • The Lyneal Trust
    The Lyneal Trust provides canal boat and canal side holidays for people with disabilities and their friends, family and helpers. The Trust have two purpose built canal boats and wharfside accommodation. Groups can hire either or both boats and the wharfside accommodation which sleeps up to 14 people in chalet style bungalows. The 'Shropshire Lass' can sleep a further eight people. Day trips with or without volunteer skipper are available.

  • Youth Cancer Trust
    The Youth Cancer Trust provides free holidays to young cancer patients between the ages of 14-30 attending any hospital in the UK or Irish Republic subject to approval from their doctor. They are invited to spend a few days with other guests of a similar age and situation at Tracy Ann House in Bournemouth. They can come in groups up to eight and bring a brother, sister or a friend. The emphasis is on a relaxed, carefree and fun holiday, allowing a few days away from hospitals. The groups choose what activities they would like to do making this their special holiday.
