    Cosham Art Group are a friendly art society committed to encouraging both the beginner and more proficient to exercise their creative abilities. Meetings are held weekly and cover a wide diversity of subjects, and the informal atmosphere encourages mutual help. An example of topics covered include: Picture appraisal evenings, Techniques evenings, Portraiture, Oil painting, Pastels, Acrylics, Imaginary Landscapes, Monochrome painting, Social events, Painting night time scenes, Outdoor painting trips and demonstrations by professional artists.

    We are a group of artists who meet to practise life drawing, using a variety of models, male & female. Members (currently around a dozen) bring their own materials and may use any medium. No formal tuition is offered but informal help may be given if required.

    New Forest Art Society holds monthly meetings. Variety of speakers on all aspects of art. Approximately 3 meetings per year allocated to criticisms of paintings. Weekend painting courses twice yearly. Annual art exhibition in August.

    Practical work with an instructor, weather permitting. Also painting weekdays in Summer. Outdoor - June to September, Mondays and Wednesdays 10am - 1pm. Programme in September - December - still life, working from displays. January to Easter - figure composition, model on occasions. May to June - Landscape and working from photos, illustrations and outdoors. Most mediums covered in water colour, oil, acrylics, pastel and mixed media.
