  • Living Paintings
At Living Paintings we help blind and partially sighted people 'feel' visual images. We make special versions of pictures with raised surfaces that come to life when fingers feel them. Our sound recordings direct the fingers telling the stories and describing their features. Topics include wildlife, gardening, famous works of art and many more. For children we adapt popular books and provide a variety of topical and learning packs. We've put these 'touch and sound' pictures into an extensive postal library, so visually impaired people throught the UK and Ireland can borrow them and gain a feel for the visual world. This service is totally free. Items are delivered to the door and returned free of charge through the post.
