  • Canine Partners
    We train puppies over an 18 month period to transform the lives of people with disabilities enabling them to regain independence and enjoy a better quality of life providing a life enhancing experience which rebuilds the individual’s self-confidence and improves quality of life at home and the community. Volunteer Puppy Parents train the dogs during the first 14 months on the programme and attend puppy classes the dogs then commence Advanced Training at our National Training Centre for a further 3-6 months, where they undertake training 5 days a week and live onsite during the week. While in Advanced Training our dogs are cared for at weekends by loving volunteer Fosterers who maintain training during this time.

  • Conquest Art Enriching the Lives of Physically Disabled People
    Conquest Art helps physically disabled people of all ages to overcome the adversity of their disability through art activity. Art classes are held, where members' artistic progress is matched by a parallel improvement in their well-being. Exhibitions are held and talks given on request. A magazine is published twice a year which is also available on tape for the visually impaired. Training in our methods for potential class leaders is available. Conquest Art is a voluntary organisation and donations are welcome to enable it to continue its activities.

    Publishes information on car adaptions etc. for disabled motorists and answers enquiries on any motoring or travel problems they may have. National body for 11 local independant motorists clubs scattered around the country. Has a small affiliated membership.   • Holton Lee
    Holton Lee provides a range of day activities and events that are accessible for all, including arts and crafts sessions, gardening and environmental activities. Holton Lee is set within a 350 acre estate which includes heathland, woodland and reed beds and is designated a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) because of the unique species and habitats found on site. We have two accessible bird hides and a boardwalk across the reed beds to facilitate access to all parts of the estate. Visitors with more resticted mobility can also use the golf buggy and trampers (all terrain mobility scooters) to explore the environment. We have fully accessible self catering accomodation available for hire by families and groups.

    This charity uses gardening to improve the lives of disabled, disadvantaged and older people. The organisation aims to develop users' social skills and confidence, the learning/re-learning of basic skills, the gaining of experience and qualifications needed for jobs, restoring strength/mobility and breaking down barriers that create isolation. Direct services to groups and individuals are available at four demonstration gardens, including Trunkwell Park near Reading.     Vitalise provides holidays for disabled people & breaks for carers at five accessible centres in the UK and also abroad. 24 hour care is provided by professional staff supplemented by volunteers. Day trips and entertainment are offered. Special interest weeks, such as youth, 30-45's and weeks for people with Alzheimer's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis are provided throughout the year.
