    We research mill history, assist mill owners with information and advice. Hold four meetings a year in a mill and issue a quarterly newsletter. Provide information on mills and millers to researchers and family historians. We also provide a volunteer work party to assist mill owners with repairs to mill machinery and equipment.

  • Palmerston Forts Society
    The Society was formed in 1984 with the principal aim of the advancement of the education of the public into the history of all the British Victorian fortifications. The PFS also assists in the improvement of the fortifications for the public benefit. The PFS has a diverse membership spread all over the UK, as well as other parts of the world. The membership includes men, women and families of all ages and the activities vary from visits, through research to work parties. Members receive the Society's journal 'The Redan' and newsletters.

    The group works on a voluntary basis on properties of the National Trust to help with conservation of the relevant properties and environment. Work involved is cutting down trees, planting trees and hedges, scrub bashing, repairing fences, building footpaths and bridges and clearing and reclamation of ponds amongst others.

    The Yateley Society is a registered charity to benefit the parish of Yateley. A local Amenity Society registered with the Civic Trust, which carries out research and informs the public about local history, including local family history, and natural history encouraging good standards of Town Planning and undertakes practical nature conservation work. AGMs are held in February. The Society also offers a programme of talks and events relating to its activities. These are generally open to non-members.
