    Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) North Hampshire District Group is a branch of CPRE Hampshire which helps to protect their local countryside where there is a threat and to enhance where there is an opportunity to keep it beautiful, enjoyable and productive for everyone in the Borough of Basingstoke and Deane. The local branch is active in considering planning and transport issues within the Borough.

  • East Hampshire Environment Network
    A hub for information exchange and channel for 2-way communications between local groups and the district council, regional and national organisations and between the public, private and voluntary sectors. Promote events and awards and competitions to share skills, good ideas and local solutions Encourage practical action on the ground Identify and create mechanisms for supporting and funding, environmental and climate change projects In particular we will work with EHDC and to:- • Help achieve their climate change objectives; • Encourage outreach from the Bordon/Whitehill Eco town throughout the whole district

  • Friends of Leesland Park
    Leesland Park offers visitors a number of activities and facilities. Play activities include a childrens play area, sports area and skate park. There is a large area of grass and a community orchard, sensory garden, conservation area and wildground - all of which are open and available to walk through or to sit and enjoy. An annual late summer community event is presented by The Friends of Leesland Park - see website for further detail.

    Guardianship of a community wildlife garden. Minimal upkeep, mainly keeping access paths free from vegetation and controlling unwanted and evasive plants.

  • Groundwork South, Solent Area
    We run environmental youth projects. We can also offer volunteers outside work on our community projects. Our scope of work also includes employment programmes, land improvement projects and community consultation. Education & training programme & community cafe.

  • Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust Ltd (Eastleigh)

  • Hampshire Mills Group
    We research mill history, assist mill owners with information and advice. Hold four meetings a year in a mill and issue a quarterly newsletter. Provide information on mills and millers to researchers and family historians. We also provide a volunteer work party to assist mill owners with repairs to mill machinery and equipment.

    We maintain a watching brief on the management of the City's Commons, Parks and Open Spaces, examine and object to planning proposals that may affect available green space and offer help + support to members of the public who are concerned about their local green and open spaces.

    The Borough Civic Society has monthly lectures informing residents on environmental and other topics associated with its aims. Protection of the built and natural environment is on the logo. Meetings 3rd Thursday of the month Sept-May.

  • Time Machine Fun and Reclaim Fun
    We are a project based organisation. We use unwanted interested things to take apart to explore and experience science. We also provide roadshows, courses and community involvement. Please see the website www.timemachinefun.com or www.reclaimfun.com. Free groups are provided via the internet and other forms of involvement. Now open outside growing facility for all to enjoy. Wheelchair access and activities. Garden train & key stage puppet show now ready to book at Centre or to your centre.

  • Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC)
    Information on climate change; Advice on reducing your carbon footprint; Training - in house and external; Regular newsletter. Active groups on renewable energy, transport, and buildings. Open meetings held monthly and alternatively on 1st Sat of the month at the St Lawrence Parish Room, Winchester from 10.30am-12.00pm and on 2nd Tues of the month usually at the United Church from 7.30-9.30pm.   • Woodland Park Community Group
    We are a registered charity owning & managing a small area of woodland adjacent to Pilands Wood, Bursledon. With financial support from County & Borough Councils we are making this woodland accessible to the public while conserving it for the future. Two footbridges have been built across the stream & informal paths cleared to the central glade. The level of enhancement is minimal and the emphasis will be on conserving the wood. Local people are involved in the management committee and it is hoped that volunteer input will foster a feeling of pride in the area.
