Basingstoke Twin Town Sport Exchanges
Basingstoke and Deane have strong twinning links with Alencon,(France) Euskirchen,(Germany) & Braine-L'Alleud (Belgium). Each year there are festivals of sport alternating between the countries with over 10 different sports and 120+ competitors from each town. As well as sport there are both educational and cultural links for all ages.The local sports council has strong partnerships with the borough council and a wide range of local sport league clubs and agencies and works closely with them to support sports development and recognise achievement.

Franco-British Society
The Society is advertised in Southampton newspapers and are open to all. All our meetings are held in English, but there is an opportunity to speak French. We arrange foreign visits with the France-Grande-Britagne Association, Nice, France.

Rendevous
Our group meets regularly for French conversation and talks on French culture and traditions. We have a partner group in Rushmoor's twin town,
Meudon, with whom we exchange at 18 monthly intervals.

Romsey Twinning
We organise twinning links with Paimpol in France and Battenberg in Germany. Members exchange visits of 4 days duration alternating home and abroad. We also have social events such as skittles, wine tasting, quizzes and an annual members' dinner. We are in the process of formalising a new link with Treviglio in Northern Italy.

Families in Sway are linked to a family in Bretteville in Normandy. Exchange visits take place annually as a whole group but families visit each other throughout the year.

Twinning Association (Clanfield)
We are twinned with Val d'Oison in Normandy. We arrange exchanges to and from France and also arrange social events within the village, and occasionally with similar Associations in neighbouring villages. Groups of say, 20 to 50 people cross the Channel in either direction each Spring. Visits to places of interest (e.g Winchester, Arundel, London/Paris. Deauville & Giverny) and parties/dances are arranged. The rest of the (usually 3 day) period is spent with our now regular family friends at home.

Official Charter signing ceremonies took place in St Contest in May 1999 & Marchwood in May 2000.
